Czech looking forward to Sisi visit

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met on Friday with his Czech counterpart Lubomír Zaorálek in the Czech capital, Prague.

The meeting took up means of promoting bilateral relations in the political, economic, commercial and investment fields, according to Foreign Ministry spokesman Badr Abdel Aati

The two sides discussed economic ties between Egypt and the European Union (EU), with Zaorálek stressing the importance of benefiting from the good investment climate in Egypt.

They also probed Czech's support for Egypt in its efforts to obtain a non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council.

The Czech minister welcomed Shoukry and offered his country's support for Egypt, especially that the road map is about to be completed once the parliamentary elections are conducted, Abdel Aati noted.

Zaorálek said his country is looking forward to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit so as to enhance historical relations between the two countries.

The meeting also took up issues of mutual concern, atop of which means of combating terrorism, with Shoukry affirming Egypt's fight against extremism that tarnishes the moderate image of Islam.

They also probed the Libyan, Yemeni and Iraqi files, as well as the Syrian crisis.
