Czech to support Egypt bid for UNSC

Czech Ambassador here Veronika Kuchynova expressed her country's support to the Egyptian bid to get a non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council.

Egypt, on its part, will back Czech's nomination for the membership of the UN Social and Economic Council, the ambassador told MENA.

The UNSC's 2016/2017 elections will take part in October of 2015.

She termed as successful Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry's latest visit to Prague, saying he held fruitful talks with Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka and Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek.

During the talks, Czech officials expressed support of Egypt's anti-terror efforts and its role in the Middle East.

They hoped for more economic cooperation with Egypt, the ambassador said.
