Daesh calls for targeting Japanese diplomatic missions

The so-called Islamic State -Daesh- group urged its followers to target the Japanese diplomatic missions in Bosnia, Malaysia and Indonesia, the Japanese government said Friday.

"I have instructed that all Japan's diplomatic missions to be on alert and boost security," Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida told a press conference, vowing that the government will take "all possible measures to ensure security" in the target locations, according to Kyodo News Agency.

The so-called Islamic State's online publication "Dabiq" singled out Japan as part of a U.S.-led "crusader coalition" and called on its followers unable to take part in combat in Iraq and Syria to seek other opportunities such as "targeting Japanese diplomatic missions in Bosnia, Malaysia, and Indonesia."
