Date set for HRH Princess Sabeeka Award Distribution

Winners of the 8th edition of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Award for Productive Families will be announced on March 25. HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of Supreme Council for Women (SCW) will patronise the event at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC). An exhibition showcasing productive families' items will also be held on the sidelines of the award-distribution ceremony. Social Development Minister Dr. Fatima Mohammed Al-Balooshi hailed the patronage as reflecting HRH Princess Sabeeka's keen interest in promoting productive families and highlighting their crucial role in national social and economic development. She stressed the ministry's drive to promote Bahraini productive families, paying tribute to the Government for supporting this category of development projects which feature among small and micro schemes. In a statement today, Dr. Al-Balooshi underscored the importance of productive families' projects in expanding the labour market, optimising social wellbeing and empowering families and women. Launched in 2007, the pioneering award played a key role in optimising support for productive families and transforming low-income families into active productive units, thus contributing to the development of the domestic economy. She underlined the role of the prize in encouraging financial, economic and trade institutions to support productive families and finance and market their produce.
