Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu paid a visit to Osman Baydemir, metropolitan mayor of Turkey's southeastern province of Diyarbakir. "May God foil intriguers' plots to cause unrest among us," Davutoglu said during the meeting with Baydemir. Davutoglu stressed the need for joint effort to "turn a new page of freedom, equality and justice," adding, "long standing problems must be left behind in parentheses in our millennial history." Baydemir, on his part, said Turkey was passing through "a historic period," adding, "with God's willing, we will not be embarrassed this time but will enjoy the opportunity to present to all our people the peace they deserve, sincerely, resolutely and bravely."
