Davutoglu: No tensions in Tehran-Ankara ties

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said there were no tensions in Tehran-Ankara relations. The Turkish foreign minister made the remark here on Thursday answering to a question by a reporter in the parliament where he was attending the country’s budget bill session. He stressed that there were no tensions and strain in Iran-turkey relations. Davutoglu said he had talked to his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi whom he referred to as his “friend”. Referring to Salehi’s remarks in a recent interview with Turkish news agency (Anatoli) about Tehran-Ankara good relations, the Turkish foreign minister appreciated friendly comments of his Iranian counterpart saying that Salehi has endorsed views shared by the two capitals. Davutoglu further stressed that no one could tarnish ties between Iran and Turkey because their relations 'are long-standing and old.'
