Over 500 servicemen of the Russian regular army and around 30 units of special equipment have been deployed to prevent the collapse of a flood protective dike near the Mylki lake in the area of Komsomolsk-on -Amur, the defense ministry's press service told Itar-Tass on Thursday. The threat of dike collapse and flooding of the nearby territories arose last night after the water level on the flooded territories rose again, which worsened the flood situation. The troops of the Defense Ministry involved in the liquidation the aftermath of the flooding in Komsomolsk-on-Amur were urgently transferred to the area under threat to reinforce the dike. Over 500 servicemen, seven floating transporters, two tow motor boats and ten trucks and excavators have been operating in the area, where the dike is under threat, round the clock.
