
A delegation from Al Azhar will participate in the international conference, held on September 27-29, in Burundi's capital of Bujumbura.
The three-day conference will be held under the theme of "Role of mediators and religious leaders in avoiding conflicts based on identity and religion".
Al Azhar delegation, to take part in the conference opening session, will deliver a message of peace in which it urges peace to prevail in Africa and across the world.
The opening session is to be attended by President of Burundi Pierre Nkurunziza along with a number of executive, popular and religious figures in the African country.
Al Azhar speech in the second session will take up the responsibility of religious leaders in eliminating extremism and terrorism as well as the efforts exerted in this respect by Al Azhar and its Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb.
