A delegation representing the UN Mission in Iraq visited on Tuesday, Feb. 26, the Salaheddin Governorate building, meeting with Governor of Salaheddin province, Ahmed Abdullah, and a number of the province's officials, as well as representatives for the demonstrators. Source at Salaheddin province told NINA that the delegation, headed by Marwan al-Ali, informed the demonstrators' representatives that the UN is interested in their legitimate demands, and called on the Central lGovernment to listen to the demonstrators' demands. Al-Ali pointed out that "Peaceful demonstrations granted by the Constitution, our role is to bring the views of the Government and demonstrators close and to provide consultation and expertise." Pointing out that their role is neutral hoping to succeed to overcome the crisis, without being biased for any side.
