Democrats have filed a lawsuit in Ohio seeking to restore three days of early voting for all eligible voters in the state. The Republican-dominated Legislature shut down voting on the final three days before Election Day. However, military dependents can still cast ballots on those days. A federal lawsuit filed Tuesday by the Obama campaign, the Democratic National Committee and the party's state committee says there is no meaningful distinction between military families and other Ohio voters, The Columbus Dispatch reported. In their complaint, the plaintiffs say the law as it now stands denies other Ohio voters equal access. Secretary of State Jon Husted, who is named as a defendant with Attorney General Mike DeWine, said Ohio had to keep those three days for military families to comply with federal law.
