The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Army General Martin Dempsey said the bill to curtail the aid to Pakistan is a right decision. Talking to a US-based news television in an interview, General Dempsey said Pakistan is an important country of the region and the world. Underscoring the need to resolve the issues through negotiations, the US Army general noted the two countries should restore the bilateral ties afresh. It should be mentioned here that a committee of the US Senate adopted a bill to whittle down the aid to Pakistan over the punishment to Dr. Shakeel Afridi and closure of NATO supply routes.
