Units from the Internal Security Forces, backed by seven Lebanese army personnel carriers, resumed the destruction of cannabis crops in the axis of Dier al Ahmer-Laymoneh in Baalbek. Agriculture tractors destroyed 12 acres of cannabis amid calm and normal atmosphere in Dier al Ahmer. Officials in the town said that the situation is very normal and the security forces resumed the destruction of cannabis. They added that farmers have welcomed this move after Prime Minister Najib Mikati promised to find new alternatives for cannabis in this region and also to carry out developmental projects. But these officials warned that the farmers and residents will resume planting cannabis and block roads if the alternatives did not become available.
