The Council Chamber of the Brussels Court decided on Thursday to extend the provisional detention of six suspects linked to Brussels attacks for a period of one month, informs the federal prosecutor in a statement.
Of the six men - all arrested in early April - Abrini Mohamed is accused of participation in a terrorist group, terrorist murders and attempted terrorist murders. Also called "the man with the hat," he is the third man who accompanied the two suicide bombers at Brussels National Airport. He is also implicated in the attacks in Paris on Nov. 13, 2015.
Smail Farisi and Ibrahim Farisi are believed to have erased the traces of a hideout used by suicide bombers in the municipality of Etterbeek (Brussels Capital Region).
Osama Krayem is believed to have bought the bags used by suicide bombers to attack the airport and Maelbeek Metro Station.
Herve B.M. and Bilal El Makhoukhi are also implicated in the preparation and commission of the Brussels attacks.
"If they do appeal this decision, they will appear before the court of appeal within 15 days," said the statement of federal prosecutor.
