
The Diplomatic Institute at the Foreign Ministry hosted a seminar on Qatari-Chinese relations and the quantum leap it saw over the past years.
The seminar was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Permanent Committee of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Arkin Amir Albek who is also Head of the Qatari-Chinese Friendship Society and his accompanying delegation, Chinese Ambassador to Qatar Li Chen , Assistant Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al-Meraiki and a large number of diplomats and foreign ministry employees.
Addressing the seminar, Albek said relations between the two countries made quantum leaps over the past years through the intensification of visits and trade exchange and the attention the leaderships in Qatar pays to the issue, confirming that the visit of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Beijing in 2014 gave a strong nudge to these relations and upgraded them to the stage of strategic partnership.
He added that he also support the development of relations on the popular level believing that cooperation between the Qatari Advisory council and the State Council of the People's Republic of China will benefit the two countries, noting that this year is the Qatari-Chinese cultural year which started activities in the two countries and will also see the foundation of the Qatari-Chinese Friendship Society.
