Six Al Qaeda members were killed Friday in a drone airstrike that targeted a vehicle transporting them. A Yemeni security source said today that the drone airstrike has led to the injury of five others in the Baitha governorate in central Yemen. The identity of five of those killed were yet to be identified. The car was driving through Rada' district in Yemen before it was struck by the drone. Al Qaeda militants took over parts of Rada' district back in January 2012, before they withdrew from the area after a mediation by Arab tribes in Yemen. However clashes erupted in February 2013 between Yemeni security forces and Al Qaeda militants and despite tribes’ mediation efforts, the district remains insecure.
