Major General Abdulal Jalil Mahdi, Director General of the Department, said the Iranian prime suspect came to the marina and confusedly carried the two sacks and put them in the midst of boxes in the quay so as to deliver them to another person. He said a team acted upon reliable tip-off and arrested the suspect. Asked about the source of the narcotics, he told the investigators that he had received a telephone call from the second suspect, also Iranian living abroad, asking him to take the two sacks to another person. He added he is skipper and he entered the country illegally and consumed methadone, a synthetic opioid. Mahdi said he will face charges of peddling and consuming drugs and psychotropic substances.
