A senior militant who was Doku Umarov's "right hand," has been destroyed in a special operation in Ingushetia, the republic’s leader Yunus-Bek Yevkurov told Itar-Tass. He is Dzhamaleil Mutalyev, military emir of Imarat Kavkaz; his accomplice, an Alikhan Ozdoyev, has been destroyed, too," Yevkurov said. "According to the Federal Security Service's information, Dhamaleil Mutaliyev was one of the leaders of militants operating in Ingushetia. He was the so-called military emir of the international terrorist organization Imarat Kavkaz and a deputy of its leader Doku Umarov," a NAK (The National Antiterrorist Committee) press service representative told Itar-Tass. "He was responsible for funding terrorists and providing them with the means of conducting armed struggle; he was also involved in preparing and organizing the terrorist attacks that caused many casualties, using suicide bombers and car bombs, in August 2010 in a Vladikavkaz market and at the police post near the village of Chermen in September 2012," NAK said. The Ingushetia leader underlined that police had offered the gunmen to surrender before the operation began, but they opened fire at police and were destroyed in a shootout.
