Egypt condemns armed attack on Somalia's presidential palace

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry has condemned an explosion that targeted the presidential compound in Mogadishu early Friday.In statements, the ministry's spokesman Badr Abdel Aaty offered condolences to the families of the victims and wished speedy recovery for the injured.The spokesman stressed Egypt's support for the Somali people and government and its condemnation of all acts that seek to destabilize the country and intimidate citizens.A huge car bomb exploded at the gates of Somalia's presidential palace, followed by a fierce gun battle inside.
