Egypt's General Consulate in Jeddah on Wednesday ended a sit-in staged by 15 Egyptian citizens who violated their visas and work contracts in Saudi Arabia, after Egypt Consul in Jeddah Ambassador Adel el-Alfi promised to intervene with the Saudi authorities to have them deported as soon as possible. The citizens staged their protest at the headquarters of the Egyptian consulate in Jeddah, demanding to deported from the kingdom immediately. The Egyptian citizens had refused all attempts by the consulate staff to convince them to show more patience especially that their deportation proceedings in accordance with the rules in Saudi Arabia would take some time.
