Egypt’s Foreign Ministry on Wednesday dismissed reports claiming that Cairo supports the Ethiopian opposition Oromo group.
Spokesman for the Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid asserted Egypt's constant stance against interfering in other countries' internal affairs, especially the ones which have special ties with Egypt at the official and popular levels, such as Ethiopia.
The spokesman deplored attempts by some foreign parties to drive a wedge between the two countries.
He asserted that both government and people in Egypt wish the best for Ethiopia.
Earlier, the Turkish Anadolu state-run news agency fanned groundless claims that Cairo might provide support for the opposition group in Ethiopia.
