Egypt will not leave any leaf unturned to achieve growth, progress and stability in Africa, which represents the vital depth for Egypt and its national security, Secretary General of the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development Hazem Fahmy said.
In an article published Monday on the Foreign Ministry’s blog on the second anniversary of establishing the agency, Fahmy said that Egypt after the 2011 and 2013 revolutions has been working on rectifying its policies and relationship with world countries, including that with Africa.
The new Egyptian constitution’s permeable reiterated Egypt’s African identity, something that was declared by the Egyptian political leadership at the highest levels and in more than one occasion, he said.
One of the Egyptian state’s tools in expressing this commitment to Africa was announcing the establishment of the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development during the African summit in Equatorial Guinea in 2014, Fahmy pointed out.
The agency is one of the cooperation mechanisms between southern countries and aims to share Egypt’s expertise and knowledge with sisterly African countries in the different development fields, he said.
Over the past two years, the agency received nearly 3,900 African trainees in more than 22 domains, including agriculture, medicine, irrigation, judiciary, diplomacy, media, aviation, women empowerment, trade, textile technology, renewable energy and electricity, intellectual property and port management.
The agency also organized several training courses in the security field covering fighting terrorism and illegal migration and VIP body guarding, he noted.
