Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Kamel Amr returned Wednesday to Cairo after a three-day visit to Paris. During his visit, Amr held talks with French President Francois Hollande and his counterpart Laurent Fabius. The meetings took up recent developments in Egypt, the Syrian crisis, Sahel and Sahara region and preparation for the Africa and France summit. The top Egyptian diplomat delivered a message from President Mohamed Morsi to Hollande that asserts the strong ties between Egypt and France, read a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry. Amr also reviewed with French officials the situation in Egypt during the transition period and its implications on the economy.
