Egyptian Intelligence Agency Chief Maj. Gen. Murad Mowafi on Wednesday met with Hamas delegation headed by Khaled Meshaal, head of Hamas's political bureau. According to MENA news agency, talks dealt with bilateral ties between the movement and the Egyptian leadership, the latest developments on the Palestinian arena and the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip. The two sides also discussed means of implementing the Palestinian National Reconciliation Agreement signed in in Cairo April 27, 2011. The top-level delegation landed in Cairo on Tuesday amid renewed speculation that the group was poised to engage in fresh indirect talks with Israel over the release of captive soldier Gilad Shalit.
