Egypt, Hungary express satisfaction at bilateral ties

Egypt and Hungary have expressed satisfaction at their successful bilateral relations.

According to a joint statement Friday, the two sides exchanged points of view concerning Egyptian-Hungarian ties, as well as the issues of common interests, during the visit paid by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to the European country on June 4-6 at an invitation by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

They also stressed their peoples' interest in enhancing relations at the political, economic, cultural and scientific levels.

The two sides expressed hope to carry out a strategic high-level political dialogue so as to discuss international issues of mutual concern.

The Hungarian side appreciated the success achieved by Egypt during the transitional political process and expressed its support for the Arab country in combating terrorism.

Hungary also praised Egypt's strategic role in the Middle East and Africa.

The Egyptian side lauded the successful economic reform in Hungary since 2010, especially efforts meant to increase growth rates, create more job opportunities and enhance the country's financial resources.

The two sides expressed concern over the deteriorating security conditions in Libya, a matter which harms the stability of neighboring countries. Thus, they are seeking to launch a strategy to fight terrorism along with the political dialogue.
