
Egypt has stressed during the meetings of the defense ministers from the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) that terrorism should not be fought through security dimension only.
Observing the economic, developmental, political, social, religious, cultural, and media dimensions while addressing the issue of terrorism-combat shall be a must, according to Egypt's vision.
The vision, submitted duringthe conference, also highlighted the importance of handling the issues help provide a suitable environment for terror growth via stabilizing the factors attracting young people to be part of terror groups.
Under Egypt's presidency, more than 27 Arab and African countries and five European countries; France, Italy, Greece, Cyprus and Spain are participating in the meetings.
The CEN-SAD was established in February 1998 by six countries, but since then its membership has grown to 27. One of its main goals is to achieve economic unity through the implementation of the free movement of people and goods in order to make the area occupied by member states a free trade area.
