
Egypt’s permanent representative in Geneva Amr Ramadan took part in a meeting organized by the German Foreign Ministry in Berlin.
Ramadan said the meeting aimed to discuss how the work of the Human Rights Council can be improved and the protection of human rights strengthened within the UN system.
Egypt's was invited to the meeting despite it is currently an observer member in recognition of its role in the UN Human Rights Council, he added.
On the sidelines of the meeting, German President Joachim Gauck received the President of the Human Rights Council Joachim Ruecker, and representatives of the United Nations Human Rights Council at Bellevue Palace in Berlin.
