Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met Friday with Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the UK Foreign Office Tobias Ellwood to discuss means of boosting bilateral ties.
They discussed ways of enhancing bilateral relations between Cairo and the EU, Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Badr Abdel Aati said.
The meeting also took up the significance of a Sharm el-Sheikh economic conference, aimed at shoring up the Egyptian economy, the spokesman added.
Ellwood said his country will take part in the conference, Abdel Aati said.
They touched upon several regional issues, topped by the crisis in Libya and fighting terrorist groups operating on its soil, he said.
They also tackled the latest developments in Syria, Iraq and Yemen, the spokesman added.
