
Egypt has called on the international community and European countries, mainly NATO member states, to assume their responsibilities in wiping out terror in Libya, said Egypt's Foreign Minister's aide for European affairs Hatem Seif el-Nasr.
The remarks were made during a meeting with the European diplomats accredited to Egypt in order to review the latest developments in Egypt.
The meeting reviewed Egypt's efforts to eradicate terror groups in the region.
The Egyptian diplomat slammed as barbaric the crime committed by Daesh militants against Egypt's Copts in Libya.
The successful military operations carried out by the Egyptian air force against Daash sites in Libya came out of Egypt's right to defend itself in line with the United Nation Charter, he said.
He extended thanks to European countries for condemning Daesh's heinous crime against Egyptians.
He underscored the importance of European solidarity with Egypt in its war against terrorism.
He called for the lifting of the UN arms embargo on the Libyan government to help it fight terrorism.
