
Answering a question on bilateral cooperation Egypt seeks to achieve with the United States in the fight against terrorism, especially in the Sinai, Shoukry said there are close ties between the two countries in the military field as the US efforts help in confronting terrorism in Sinai with regard to providing weapons systems to control the situation and eliminate terrorists within the Egyptian Armed Forces' efforts in this regard.
This issue was on the strategic dialogue table and there was acceptance and understanding in the continuation of providing weapons systems that help Egypt to confront this serious challenge.
On Libya, Kerry said that the talks dealt with the very critical moment in Libya, affirming Cairo and Washington's full support for the UN envoy's efforts to form a recognized Libyan government.
We will review some options for how to provide a greater support for the United Nations to efforts in Libya.
Kerry said that those who have played roles in proxy in the Libyan conflict must withdraw and condone their individual initiative for the United Nations initiative.
He added that no side can accept the presence of terrorist groups that aim to undermine the whole political process in Libya.
