Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held talks in Rome with US Secretary of State John Kerry on Tuesday on regional issues, said spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid
The meeting was held at a request of Kerry, Abu Zeid added.
They arrived in Rome to participate in the ministerial meeting of the US-led coalition against Daesh terrorists.
The talks focused mainly on the situation in Libya, the developments of the Syrian and Libyan crises as well as the Palestinian cause, according to Abu Zeid.
The two top diplomats agreed to continue consultation specifically on the Libyan and Syrian conflicts during the coming period to reach solutions that could contribute to supporting efforts to form a national unity government in Libya and back the political process in Syria.
