Egypt, US stress importance of coordination over Middle East woes

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his US counterpart John Kerry stressed the importance of further coordination between both countries regarding woes in the Middle East specially in Syria, Iraq, Libya and Yemen.

This came in the communiqué issued at the end of the Egyptian-American Strategic Dialogue which held in Cairo on Sunday.

The statement stressed the importance of reaching fair and permanent solution for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based on a two-state solution and UN resolutions.

The two ministers discussed the latest developments in the region.

They called for a comprehensive implementation of a nuclear deal inked by Iran and major world powers.

The two sides agreed for boosting bilateral cooperation especially in the security field and fighting terrorism and extremism.

The US welcomed Egypt's participation in the US-led coalition fighting Daesh, the statement said.

It asserted the US's support for Egypt in its war on terror
