Egypt today warned against a widened scope of the Syrian crisis after the fall of Syria shells on a Turkish border village last night resulting in human fatalities. The Egyptian Foreign Minister, in a press statement, called on the Syrian government to ensure non-infringement on the borders of neighboring countries, warning of enormous risks that beset the region as a whole due to the potential spillover of the crisis. He also expressed Egypt's condolences to the Turkish people on the killing of a Turkish woman and her four children due to the fall of Syrian missiles. The Egyptian Foreign Minister meanwhile underlined Egypt's continued efforts to stem the bloodshed in Syria, through the urgent contacts which it makes in this regard with all the regional and international powers, stressing at the same time the responsibility of the Syrian government regarding the halt of bloodshed and the cycle of violence as well as the prevention of its expansion.
