
Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs Hamdy Loza received visiting United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations Hervé Ladsous and his accompanying delegation.
The visit aims at talks with the Egyptian side on means to boost Egyptian contribution to peacekeeping missions and getting acquainted with Egypt's vision towards regional developments in Africa and the Middle East.
The visit comes within the framework of participating in regional consultations tour hosted by Cairo for the AL member states as part of the operation of reviewing the current strategy for the UN peacekeeping operations.
Ladsous expressed appreciation for the Egyptian contributions via peacekeeping missions composed from army and police forces.
Ladsous also lauded the performance of the units and elements participating in the missions from Egypt.
Both parities exchanged points of view on a number of issues related to UN work in the field of peacekeeping.
