Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will meet Monday with UN Special Envoy for Syria crisis Staffan de Mistura, currently visiting Cairo.
The meeting will take up the latest developments in Syria as well as the efforts of the UN and the international community to put an end to the Syria refugees' crisis.
Mistura is the third UN special envoy trying to bring a negotiated end to the four-year conflict. He's trying to succeed where other seasoned diplomats have failed and have resigned in frustration.
More than 240,000 people have been killed in Syria since the conflict began with anti-government protests in March 2011.
