Egypt welcomed the signing of the Darfur peace agreement expected here this afternoon, expressing appreciation for the efforts made by the State of Qatar over the years to achieve this important step, as well as the efforts made by various parties in the framework of international, Arab and African mediation. Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Al-Oraby praised the wisdom and courage off all the concerned parties to achieve peace, calling on Darfur rebel factions to join the peace process. This document is a good foundation to complete the efforts aimed at promoting stability, peace and reconstruction in Darfur, the Egyptian top diplomat said upon arrival at Doha International Airport on Thursday. He also reaffirmed his country's support for these efforts, referring in this respect to the international conference on the reconstruction of Darfur organized by the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) and held in Cairo in March 2010.
