Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr will begin on Thursday a short visit to Turkey with a message from Egyptian President Mohamed Morsy to his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul. During the visit the Egyptian Foreign Minister is scheduled to meet with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and to hold talks with Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on developments of the Syrian crisis and the deteriorating conditions in that country as well as efforts exerted within the framework of the Trilateral Initiative of Egypt, Turkey and Iran to find a way out of this crisis so as to meet aspirations of the Syrian people and to stem the bloodshed. The Egyptian-Turkish talks will also touch on many regional and international issues of common interest especially the ongoing efforts to support the Palestinian quest for a non-member status in the United Nations. They will also address ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in various areas along with the preparation for a visit by President Abdullah Gul to Egypt in December during which he will hold talks with President Morsy aimed to strengthen relations and expand mutual cooperation, as well as the visit of Prime Minister Erdogan to Cairo in mid-November to participate in a meeting Egyptian-Turkish Cooperation Council. Erdogan will be accompanied by 13 ministers to activate the agreements and cooperation programmes concluded between the two countries in various fields.
