Egyptian irrigation minister to visit Congo on May 29

Egypt's Ambassador in Kinshasa Hani Salah met with the Congolese minister of environment and sustainable development who voiced anticipation for the visit of the Egyptian minister of water resources and irrigation to Congo on May 29-30.

The Congolese minister voiced hope that the visit would be positive to start the implementation of a bilateral cooperation protocol on an Egyptian grant to implement a project of integrated management of water resources worth 10.5 million dollars.

A statement of the Foreign Ministry said Saturday that Salah met with Congolese minister of energy and water resources and members of the Egyptian delegation from the ministry of electricity and renewable energy and and Arab Organization for Industrialization.

Salah asserted Egypt's commitment to helping Congo in the ongoing development process especially in the field of developing the energy sector.

Egypt will establish two solar energy power plants in Congo, he said.

The Congolese minister said that he is looking forward to visiting Egypt and attending the activities of the three-way ministerial meeting on June 8-9.
