A terrorist cell run by the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) group from Turkey has been arrested.
Elements of the cell received training in Syria at the hands of Aknaf Bait al Maqdis group.
Police had arrested a supporter of the terrorist MB group with advanced camera shooting and recording tools and USBs in his possession.
The suspect was collecting information about military and police activities.
Investigations eventually unveiled the terrorist cell was led by Ahmed Amin Ghazali, an active MB cadre.
Ghazali was tasked with running the cell inside Egypt and implementing orders given to him by MB leaders abroad.
He had been keeping weapons and ammunition at his house in Helwan.
Police were able to arrest a number of cell members who planned to target vital facilities and assassinate state figures with the aim to undermine national security and stability.
