
Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a meeting with a raft of German lawmakers to discuss promoting bilateral ties, said spokesman for Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid.
The meeting covered all aspects of Egyptian-German relations.
The talks reflected greet appreciation from members of the Foreign affairs, defense and national security committees for Egypt's regional role in restoring stability in the region, Abu Zeid said.
Shoukry briefed the lawmakers on accomplishments achieved by Egypt to implement the political road map, he added.
He noted that the parliamentary elections confirmed Egypt's commitment to complete the process of democratic transition and fulfill the aspirations of the Egyptian people for change.
The Egyptian parliament is looking for close cooperation with the German Bundestag during the coming period to realize further mutual understanding and serve the best of the interests of both countries, the spokesman quoted Shoukry as having said.
