HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani and Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari chaired a round of official talks between Qatar and Pakistan at the Emiri Diwan yesterday. The talks were attended by a number of Qatari ministers and the members of the official delegation accompanying President Zardari. During their talks, the two sides discussed ways to boost bilateral relations and reviewed a set of regional and international issues of mutual concern. The Emir hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of the Pakistani president and the accompanying delegation. President Zardari was accorded a red-carpet reception at the Emiri Diwan. He arrived in Doha on Tuesday afternoon on a two-day visit to Qatar. Meanwhile, HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani held separate talks with President Zardari yesterday. They reviewed bilateral relations and other issues of mutual concern. The meeting was attended by the members of the official delegation accompanying President Zardari. Later yesterday evening, President Zardari left Doha, concluding a two-day visit to Qatar. Bidding President Zardari farewell at Doha International Airport were HE the Minister of Justice Hassan bin Abdullah al-Ghanem, Qatar’s Ambassador to Pakistan Sayar Abdurhman Jassim Almauda and Pakistani Ambassador to Qatar Mohamed Sarfraz A Khanzada.
