
The Emirates Red Crescent has delivered more aid to victims of the devastating floods which hit Sri Lanka recently.
Affected families around the capital Colombo received foodstuff, medical supplies, hygiene materials and shelters from the UAE humanitarian agency after floods and mudslides destroyed hundreds of houses.
Earlier this month, Sri Lanka has seen the heaviest rains in 25 years.
The Emirates Red Crescent team assessed damage and needs in the affected areas and is procuring relief material from local markets.
On 25th May, the reported death toll from Sri Lanka floods and landslides rose to 92. Hundreds of houses have been completely destroyed and another 4,000 partly damaged.
