Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met here on Tuesday with UN High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations Nassir bin Abdulaziz Al-Nasser. Talks during the meeting dealt with the most important issues related to the Alliance of Civilizations, on the grounds that Turkey was one of the founding members of the Alliance with Spain since 2007. In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) Tuesday, Al-Nasser said that he reviewed with the Turkish Prime Minister his vision and the priorities that he identified for the Alliance during the period of his leadership, noting that Erdogan expressed his support for this vision and expressed his government's willingness to cooperate in order to put it into effect. UN High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations Nassir bin Abdulaziz Al-Nasser had delivered a lecture at the Alliance of Civilizations Institute of Fatih Sultan Mehmet University in Istanbul, in which he reviewed the role that could be played by the Alliance in resolving disputes by using mediation as a tool of preventive diplomacy.
