Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan slammed Washington on Thursday over its stance regarding Syria's Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) and the People's Protection Units (YPG), according to Turkey's Cihan News Agency.
Addressing district governors and deputy governors at the Beştepe Presidential Complex inAnkara, Erdogan said "I find hard to understand the US which does not still call or cannot call PYD andYPG as terrorist organizations".
"Aren’t we together with the US and NATO? Are you our friend or the friend of the PYD or YPG? We want to know this" added Erdoğan.
"Someone told Turkey 'stop shelling PYD, YPG'. Sorry but we do not have such an intention. One who dared to shell Turkey will be responded so much more. They need to know this and that means applying international engagement rules," he underlined. (MENA)
