Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi held a meeting on Saturday with Defense Minister Farhat Horchani to discuss preparations for the US-Tunisian military committee.
The committee will convene on May 26-27 to discuss US military aid to Tunis.
In a two-day visit to Washington, Essebsi held meetings on May 20-21 with US President Barack Obama and Defense Secretary Ashton B. Carter.
During the meetings, Obama designated Tunisia as a major non-NATO ally of the US, which clears the way for the country to receive more military aid and other upgraded security arrangements.
