Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi met Friday Federica Mogherini, the EU high representative for foreign affairs and security policy, currently on a visit to Tunisia.
Speaking after the meeting, Mogherini said she and the Tunisian president discussed means of boosting ties between the EU and Tunisia in issues of mutual interest, particularly socio-economic development, the official TAP news agency reported.
She added that talks also touched on ways of finding solutions for the regional situation, especially in Libya, as well as combating terrorism.
Mogherini said the EU-Tunisia Association Council will take place in March in Brussels to discuss bilateral cooperation.
