EU hopes for Egypt's recovery from latest car bomb blast

The European Union (EU) here on Thursday expressed support to the Egyptian people and hope for their speedy recovery after a massive car bomb explosion took place near Egyptian capital of Cairo.
"The EU stands firmly with the Government and people of Egypt in confronting terrorism," said a statement by European External Action Service spokesperson.
A massive car bomb explosion took place Thursday targeting a national security building in Shubra el Khaima in the Qalioubiya province near Cairo. Egyptian official news agency MENA reported that the number of casualties has risen to 29.
Since the military ousted Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in July 2013 in response to mass protests against his rule, Egypt has witnessed numerous anti-government armed attacks, killing hundreds of policemen and army personnel.
