European lawmakers are set to vote next Tuesday whether to remove immunity of Marine Le Pen, head of far-right French National Front. Le Pen could be put on trial on charges of inciting racism for her remarks in which she likened Muslims praying in the streets to the Nazi occupation of France. "For those who want to talk a lot about World War II, if it's about occupation, then we could also talk about (Muslim prayers in the streets). There may not be any tanks or soldiers, but it is nevertheless an occupation," she told a 2010 campaign meeting in Lyon when she ran for the president. Muslim associations in France had sought Le Pen's prosecution on charges of insulting "halal slaughtering," Islamic way of animal slaughter.
