Turkey's Minister of EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis received a delegation of International Investors' Association (YASED) at his ministry in Turkish capital Ankara on Tuesday. CEO of Vodafone Turkey and a member of YASED’s executive board Serpil Timuray shared their vision and presented the next two years’ strategic working program of YASED's new management with Minister Bagis. Turkish Minister Bagis said, "As the EU Ministry, we consider and assess YASED as a natural member of Turkey's EU membership process. The biggest block in front of Turkey's EU membership process is "prejudice". Within the scope of breaking these blocks, we need the ones who hold businesses in this country, who know this country and continue with actual and appropriate information not with prejudices." He touched on the latest developments in Turkey's agenda and said they were seeking the assistance of YASED as the twisted broadcasts of the international media could have provided wrong information about Turkey. "Turkey is the fastest growing, the most trustful and the most steady country of the region", and added that within the scope of attracting the global capital, Turkey was ahead many other countries. He noted, as Turkey was assertive about developing, it might be the reason what caused these kinds of effects. Timuray highlighted that YASED was an active NGO, volunteering to develop the investment environment for international investors in Turkey and said their aim was to position YASED as a leader of ideas and solution partner within the scope of building the best investment environment in global standards in Turkey. She highlighted that as well as cooperating with other shareholders, the EU ministry was also a valuable shareholder for them. She added that within the scope of receiving a larger share from the global capital, there was an important competition taking place across the world. "We know that we receive international direct investments in Turkey. Parallel with Turkey's aim of becoming one of the top ten largest economies in the world, we aim to become one of top ten to receive a share from international direct investments," said Timuray and added, their strategic program was prepared in coordination with this aim. Timuray said their priority was the sustainability of investments in Turkey as well as providing the best environment in international standards for investments in Turkey.
