EU underlines support to ICC

EU High Representative for foreign affairs and security policy, Catherine Ashton, has welcomed the outcome of the discussions at the International Criminal Court Assembly of States Parties, which was held in The Hague from 20-28 November. "The meeting proved to be the right forum to address concerns raised by some states parties in recent months. This truly open dialogue and the constructive atmosphere at the meeting enabled the Assembly to reach consensus on concrete results," she said in a statement. "This represents a major achievement. It will strengthen the international system of justice. The Assembly demonstrated the unwavering commitment by all the State Parties to the Rome Statute," the statement added
