The EU Monday called for a government of national unity in Libya but also warned of the threat posed by Daesh to the stability of the country.
Catherine Ray, spokesperson for EU High Representative Federcia Mogherini, told a press conference that the EU strongly supports diplomatic efforts of the UN Special Representative in Libya who has called on all parties to take part in the talks to reach a political solution and to the formation of a national unity government.
"There is a threat of presence of Daesh in Libya. They are contributing to the destabilising of the country," she said.
With reference to Iran, Ray said talks on the level of political directors of the G5+1 and Iran were held in Geneva yesterday as part the diplomatic efforts aimed at reaching a durable overall solution to the nuclear issue.
"At this stage I cannot make any comments. These talks are taking place at diplomatic level, I dont' have an exact date but they will continue in the coming weeks," she added.
